Comfort Food

There is nothing like comfort food. The smell of it cooking is comforting and then the eating of it brings back so many wonderful memories. So yesterday while looking through my fridge I saw a lonely head of cabbage and so this is what I made

Some good ol' stuffed cabbage YUMMY. But I also added some fresh sauerkraut, yup FRESH. I found it at Wholefoods. Now I normally do not shop there but my neighbor swore I would LOVE it. So I bought it and YES, I LOVE it LOL

I do not have any stitching pictures to share, still chugging along on my current WIP Bird in Hand by BBD. Maybe later tonight I will have some progress to share.

I do know this I am hankering for some new stash! It has been at least 6 months since I bought anything *GULP* that is good right?? So my wallet better be on the lookout hehe

I hope your Tuesday is a pleasent one.

Birthday Stitching

Today I am celebrating a birthday. Actually I have been celebrating since last week, but hey so what LOL My sweet DH took me to my favorite place, South Carolina. Where we spent 4 glorious days at the beach. Now many people might ask, why would you travel 3,000 miles from California to South Carolina when you have beaches there??

Truth is, the beaches here in Northern California, be it beautiful are VERY cold and the waves are rough. The beached back east are warmer and calmer. I spent three lovely days looking at this beautiful sight day and night. Listening to the sound of the waves while going to sleep is a sound unlike none other. So peaceful and calming. I feel relaxed and ready to go into 2012 with a bright outlook :)

I also started a new project while I was there. I actually did not get to much stitching done because I was to busy walking the beach and searching for sharks teeth, it seems to be a hobby for some. I came across some very tiny teeth but my biggest one came the day before I left the tooth fossil had the gum still intact so it was quit cool :) The teeth are actually fossilized teeth that have fallen out millions of years ago becoming submerged in sand and then resurfacing when they dredged the area some years ago, now they wash up on shore for us to find :)

This is Bird in Hand by Blackbird Designs I am loving it so far :) Floss I am using Blue Lagoon (Belle Soie Silk Floss)

A dear sweet stitcher Syd, kindly gifted me the chart. I am looking forward to starting on it this week. I am going to go through my stash and look for fabric and floss to get this beauty under way :)Thanks Syd!

A beautiful day in the neighborhood

January is a very busy month for me. My birthday is at the end of the month and also 6 friends have their birthdays in the month of January. January birthdays rock LOL

Tuesday I had the day off and with good reason. two of my friends were celebrating their birthday so we all decided to take a trip to the Oakland Zoo. The Chimp exhibit is the best. There are at least 10 Chimps and they are all so different and each so unique. I think we spent at least an hour just watching them.

We had such a great day and it was also a beautiful day, 67 degrees!! We then continued into San Francisco. Had a birthday drink and a quick bite to eat before heading back to the Bay Area. I took a really neat picture of the Bay Bridge on our way to the city.

I tried to stitch tonight, but I have to work tomorrow so finishing up last minute household chores hinders any stitching plans. But I am coming along with my second ornament :)

I hope you all had a lovely Wednesday! Have a wonderful night!!

No More Please!!

Dear blogging friends,Good Monday morning!!

I have been winding floss ALL weekend, and I am over it LOL I still have about 50 skeins to wind but I have filled two jammer boxes with DMC. Even though it is boring and tedious it sure is nice to see it neat and tidy. I will probably stop at Joann's today and pick up some more bobbins to finish the rest. And then from now on anytime I buy DMC I will wind it as soon as I get it home.

Last night I started stitching a new ornament. This one is from the 2009 JCS Christmas Issue. SamSarah Design-Peace. Of course it's another snowman :0)

Over the weekend our cable offered Showtime for free. So yesterday DH and I relaxed ALL day and watched the new show called HOMELAND with Calire Danes. Wow, I was not expecting this show to be as good as it is. We are HOOKED. We will absolutely be watching this some more.

Well I am off to buy some mailing envelopes to finally mail off the items that a few of my followers won from a drawing on my blog a few weeks back. And then to the dreaded grocery store...

Take Care and happy stitching!!

All good things must come to an end,

I have had four glorious days off!! But I must head back to work tomorrow *sniffsniff* What a great start to the new year it has been. I spent most of my time off with my husband, he took a few extra days off also, God knows he needed it. We spent January 1st at the beach , went to the movies, I even *forced* him to play a game of scrabble with me ;) Ahhhh, to have every day like that!!

In the New year I finished my first stitched ornament, started a second ornament. Hopefully I can follow through with an ornament a month. I really want to have my tree overflowing with hand madeitmes this Christmas.

I have a rolling cart filled with sandwich baggies of my floss, I decided to start winding those skeins, oh me oh my!!! It sure is tedious!! I only have one jammer box and it is quickly filling up. Do any of you lovely stitchers have any advice on storing your bobbins? I would love to have one of those cabinets with a million small drawers I think that would be a great solution, but until then I need other alternatives. Here are a few pictures of what I'm working with.

I still have alot to wind, but I am feeling a sense of accomplishment in finally getting my floss bin under control.

I hope everyone in blog land has a wonderful Wednesday!! Till next time.
