The year of finishes.... I hope!

Good morning dear friends,
First I want to say hello to my new followers, I hope you enjoy your visit to my blog and I encourage you to leave comments I try to reply to most. I want to thank you all for your lovely comments and encouragement on my latest project. I thought I could get by without frogging that boarder but Noooo that pesky FROG had to show up. I have stitched on "dragon" for three full days and am now taking a short break while I work on another project from my basket

This one is something I started over a year ago. I was lucky enough to win this chart including fabric and floss back in 2010 from Melissa over at Words and Blooms.

This one is so lovely with all of its motifs and it makes me even happier that the boarder came together in the end so now I can concentrate on the middle :) The fabric for this piece has a lovely molted effect which is hard to pick up in this picture,it is a joy to stitch on.

How was your weekend? Did you get lots of stitching time? I sure hope so! I had a wonderful Sunday. I shared it with my DH and his Aunt and her husband at my favorite BBQ place, I told myself I would not overeat but it is so hard to resist all that good food!!! Later hubby surprised me with a quick trip to Charleston for my birthday, well, we actually ended up at Folly Beach and even though the temperature said 58 it was quit windy and cold. We hunted for shells and walked off our lunch and then headed for home.

Today I am enjoying the warmer temps we are having they say it will get up to 72. I sure hope so I am ready for some warmer temps. I best get going, laundry is calling my name. Ya'll have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by.
P.S There is a really neat drawing being held by Heather for some wonderful LHN/CCN charts, and who does not LOVE LHN?CCN?? So go, go and enter :)

Baby it's cold outside

Brrrr.... it is a hot chocolate kind of evening. I got home from work about an hour ago put my warmest pj's on and made a steaming hot cup of Cocoa. It is a C-O-L-D night here in the south, they are calling for freezing rain tomorrow. I am hoping it happens early in the day before I have to go to work in the afternoon...

Yesterday I was off so I picked up a very old WIP. I bought this chart to stitch for my DH but never started it because I do not like Dragons and could not get into it. But this is the year I have vowed to finish at three of my older WIPs

here is my progress on it so far. The long crosses will probably be the death of me LOL I don't have the patience to concentrate on them LOL

From A Stitchers Ramblings

this is what the end end result will look like. When I bought all the items they were out of the fabric that it called for so I went with the one I am using. It could stand to be a little darker, but I think it will be just fine.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, I sure do love opening my blog and seeing them. Puts a great big smile on my face. And welcome to my newest followers. YAY!!!

Well folks this girl has to get some sleep before I start to nod off while typing, which has happened before :/

Ya'll take care and happy stitching!!

First 2013 finish

My first finish of 2013. And lord does it feel good. Hopefully it is the first of many.
From A Stitchers Ramblings

Sweet Miss Lynda started sending this traveling pattern off to stitchers back in March. And I was lucky enough to receive it, sadly it took me a few months to stitch this sweet design up. But I am all done and it is ready to be sent on to the next lucky stitcher on the list.

Now how will I finish this?? I will have to give that some thought.

How have ya'll been? Have you set any stitching goals this year? I have not but I have set some reading goals. I am hoping to read 15 books this year. As long as I can balance stitching and reading I'm good :0)

I had some family in town this past weekend which was SO nice!! My sweet nephew is now a United States Marine WooHoo! He graduated from Parris Island Bootcamp on Jan 18th when he pulled up to my house he stepped out of the car in his uniform, I was near tears, he looked so handsome. He told his dad he wanted to make sure I got to see him in the uniform.

He is home up North for a 17 day leave. I am hoping he is stationed closer to me, but I think he wants to be in San Diego, Warm weather, beaches and girls LOL!!

It was such a pleasure to have a house full of family, something that we did not have while living in California, I hope this year will be non stop with family visiting. Bring it on, cause I am ready for them :)

Well fine folks I hope you have a wonderful night and happy stitches!!

A beautiful end to the day

I want to share with you all the view that welcomed me at the end of my day today, what a sight for a Monday!

This sunset is something to love! We have been very lucky with or weather here lately and have had temps in the upper 70's. I am hoping my friends on the West coast are handling the cold weather alright.

I grew up on the West Side of Cleveland,Ohio and have had my share of freezing cold weather, do I miss it there?? I miss my family and the spring, but other than that not one bit. This sissy can't handle the cold weather Hahaha

I am still stitching away on a traveling piece I hope to have it finished by this weekend. So I cam mail it off. I wish I had some crafty photos to share but nope none of that haha.

I do hope you all continue to visit me I sure do appreciate your visits AND comments!

Best,
Natasha

My heart broke when the rooster broke......

I am very sad about this.....

This was my mothers rooster, and before she passed away she gave it to me.I loved this rooster and it always sat on my little cabinet in my dining room next to all of my mothers little knick knacks. Well since our move to this new house I had to put the cabinet in another spot and this new spot proved to be unsafe from my clumsy self, a few nights ago I bumped the cabinet and something fell right onto the rooster knocking it to the floor and breaking :( I have put the rooster and the pieces away and hopefully on my next trip to the hardware store I will pick up some super glue and fix it.

I have tried to search online to see if I could find a rooster like this one, but I have not had any luck yet. One of these years I will get my china cabinet back form my dads attic and then I can keep all of my things safe and secure.

I am still working on the LHN traveling pattern but I had to frog the boarder a few nights ago so I am re stitching that area and hopefully in the next few days I can get this finished so I can send it off to the next person.

Thank you everyone for the comments you left. I appreciate them always :)
Take care and happy stitching!!

stuffed like a pig

.... And that's no joke. Since moving back to South Carolina I have had a craving for some BBQ. Now down here in South Carolina they like their mustard based Q, I am more familiar with a tomato based Q being from the north. But I do love a good vinegar Q.
Well my craving for all three was cured when I told DH I wanted to drive 31 miles to this little place. It really only took us about 25 minutes to get there and it really was SO worth the drive!! Little Pig BBQ

From A Stitchers Ramblings

Now is this a feast or what??? I tell ya I have been craving me some collards and well they did not disappoint, neither did anything else and all you can eat + a drink for $8 what a deal. I will say that I have not eaten anything since 12 this afternoon. I am still packed but lord, was that some good food.

While I sat here in my food induced coma I was still able to get a few stitches in on my current WIP Busy Needle by Little House Needle Works

From A Stitchers Ramblings

This is part of a traveling pattern. And I was so thrilled when I received it back in October, but with the move I could not start on it right away. Well I have a feeling I will be finished with it in a few weeks and I can send it on to the next person on the list.

I hope ya'll have had a great New Years so far. Ours has been entertaining but hey, what is life it is not??

Have a great night everyone and thank you so much for all of your lovely comments. I truly love ya'll stopping by :0)
