From A Stitchers Ramblings |
Sweet Miss Lynda started sending this traveling pattern off to stitchers back in March. And I was lucky enough to receive it, sadly it took me a few months to stitch this sweet design up. But I am all done and it is ready to be sent on to the next lucky stitcher on the list.
Now how will I finish this?? I will have to give that some thought.
How have ya'll been? Have you set any stitching goals this year? I have not but I have set some reading goals. I am hoping to read 15 books this year. As long as I can balance stitching and reading I'm good :0)
I had some family in town this past weekend which was SO nice!! My sweet nephew is now a United States Marine WooHoo! He graduated from Parris Island Bootcamp on Jan 18th when he pulled up to my house he stepped out of the car in his uniform, I was near tears, he looked so handsome. He told his dad he wanted to make sure I got to see him in the uniform.
He is home up North for a 17 day leave. I am hoping he is stationed closer to me, but I think he wants to be in San Diego, Warm weather, beaches and girls LOL!!
It was such a pleasure to have a house full of family, something that we did not have while living in California, I hope this year will be non stop with family visiting. Bring it on, cause I am ready for them :)
Well fine folks I hope you have a wonderful night and happy stitches!!

Nice little finish! I agree with balancing needlework and reading. I love both and it does take balance. Congratulations to your Nephew. Be sure to thank him for all he is doing! You must be so proud!
ReplyDeleteCute finish! Congrats to your nephew!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the finish! It looks great. I love to read but also love handwork. I try to go to bed a little early and read so I can make sure to get my reading time in. Congratulations to your nephew!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish :-)
ReplyDeletePretty finish! It's always good to get that first one under your belt! I to have problems balancing reading and stitching. I was under the weather this weekend so not much stitching so I read a great book "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay. Having a Kindle helps as I can grab a few pages anywhere.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your nephew! I know the feeling well. My nephew to is a marine and he is stationed in San Diego. It was hard not having him at family Christmas but we are all so proud!
Hugs

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have your nephew visit.
ReplyDeleteYour finish looks great. I'm on that list to get that traveling pattern whenever it makes it's way to me.
Congrats on the adorable finish! Love the colors, too.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to your nephew!
Natasha have you heard of the app Good Reads I love it it's a way to keep track of your reading and friends also great reviews of books. If you join friend me Darlene clement robert your stitching is lovely can't wait to meet you at PALS
ReplyDeleteI love your finish! Congrats! :) My stitching goals consist mostly of the Crazy January Challenge - I've started my fifteen pieces, now I just need to finish them! :) Have you tried listening to audiobooks? I love doing that while I stitch, and it's a great way to combine the two! I got the Overdrive app for my iPod and check out lots of good books from my library. :) Yay for seeing family! <3
