Estate sale treasures

Over the weekend I attended my first Estate Sale ran by these guys Estate Sale Guys I follow them on facebook and let me tell ya, they really do a great job!! Not only do they post a TON of pictures prior to the sale but they are so help full and just great! Well anywhoo I went to this sale on Friday, the main reason for going was this person LOVED cross stitch. There were so many beautiful samplers all around the home. One in paticular was my favorite but it was a tad over my budget, but the work was outstanding.... Now I only bought two small pieces and I am not sure if any one bought the other stuff and I am really curious as to where the pieces go if not sold???

There is a photo album on their web site, click on the tab titled Sales Gallery and then on the link Friarsgate Estate Sale you can browse through all the beautiful things this home had to offer.

Here are the two lovely pices I bought

And this one has a discription of the sample on the back of the frame

Here is a link with a bit of info on Elizabeths sampler NSCDA

It amazing to think about all the care and love this person put into her work and then it is sold at estate, I do hope the family kept some of her pieces. I am going to make it known that if anything should ever happen to me I want my husband to know who to give my stash to and all my un framed finished pieces :)

Day three of this miserable cold/allergies. I bought some Zicame and taking benadryl before I head into work tonight. I don't feel horrible until late in the evening that is when I get these coughing fits, I literally feel like Im going to cough up a lung. So I will pre medicate myself before work. Wish me luck :)

Have a wonderful Wednesday friends.

We have a winner

Thank you all who signed up for the Coffee chart drawing, Betsy Tuck was the lucky winner. she has been contacted and I will mail that chart out to you Betsy sometime this week. I am getting over a nasty cold that just suddenly came on with no warning what so ever. Today I had a fever of 101.1 I have not had a fever since I was probably a little kid. I took some Advil and within an hour the fever was gone,97.9 the last time took my temp, hopefully it does not come back tonight. I have been resting all day and staying hydrated... Being sick stinks. I think part of it was my crazy work schedule the last two weeks, working alot of hours with little rest probably was hard on my immune system. I am hoping to be back strong in a few days.

Eating a healthy diet is also a great way to keep your immune system in check. I will admitt that most times I do not eat enough fruits and veggies. When I have gone awhile with out I start to crave them like a mad person. Which is why I was so excited to come across this site Brown Box Veggies I get to pick up my first box on May 4th. All the fruits and veggies come from local farmers right here in South Carolina. So not only do I eat better I am helping support local farmers YAY!!!

What is everyone working on?? I started Star Spangled Garden, there is not alot progress so I will not share a picture. But my Coffee finish well that is going to mailed of to Jill Rensel this week for framing and I am so excited!! I love seeing the beautiful pieces she frames. I can hardly wait :)

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful evening.

A finish on the books

First I want to send my prayers out to all of those involved in the Marathon Attack yesterday. Such a tragedy to have happened.

I have a finish, This is Coffee For Gossip by Glory Bee. Stitching this made me think of my Mom. She always had a pot of coffee brewing and all day long the neighbor ladies would stop by for a visit. It was always great to sit around the table with them listening to stories. Such wonderful memories in that little kitchen and hopefully this little stitch will remind me to take time to savor the little things in life :)

Next up on my list???
Just need to hunt down fabric and floss in very "organized" spare room.

I am going to offer Coffee for Gossip up for a drawing. Just become a follower and leave a comment on THIS post and I will draw a name Friday.

Good Luck and thank you for such lovely comments on my previous post :0) Remember to become a follower :)

It's our anniversary

Today I celebrate a special day. 13 years ago I married my best friend. We have been through alot during our courtship and marriage. We have both lost our Mothers, experinced the loss of a dear pet, been through heartache and a few other things. But in the end we knew that there was nobody that we would rather see in our "corner" than each other. I am trully blessed to have such a special man in my life.

Here is to another 13 amazing years my love!!!!!!

Stitching from my chair

Hey there fine friends,
How is it in your neck of the woods? I know many of you have been hit with that nasty white stuff called snow!!! My many friends in Denver,Co had a snow day due to the 3ft of snow... Ahhhh gotta love those Spring snow storms. Here we are having a different weather pattern, it went from VERY cold last week to 90's I am not complaing one bit I am SO excited to feel that warm sunshine on my skin, slathered with 75spf of course ;)

My dogs have been just laying around in any shade they can find, now I know where the term "The dog days of summer" comes from. They lay around until about 8p,m and them we all go for a night walk.

I started on a new project a few days ago and I am almost on the homestrech here is a quick peek as it looks now.

This is Will Trade Coffee by Glory Bee

There is a nice cool breeze on the screened in porch so that is where I have planted myself today. I think once this is stitched up I will start on Star Spangled Garden by CCN such a fun summer stitch.....

Thank you for your sweet comments, I trully enjoy you stopping by my blog :0)

A New to me blog

Good Morning from rainy South Carolina,
I heard on the news this morning a guy giving the reason as to why everyone is having a LONG winter and no it is not because the ground hog predicted the weather wrong. Blame it on Greenland Haha They are warming faster than usual and ice caps are melting therefore pushing cold air to the United States. So there ya have it a little weather knowledge form me

I was browsing blog land this morning and came across this blogSummer House Stitch Works She is having a contest to win 4 of her charts. You have until April 7th to enter. As you leave a comment on her blog please scroll to the post dated from March 21st.... Mistress Mary is one of her designs and OMG how cute is it that she used fabric Yo-Yos to embellish the garden....TO CUTE!!!

As for my stitching I have started a new piece, I will share it with ya'll in a few days. It is a super fast stitch and I have a feeling it be completed soon.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments you have been leaving. I start training for the new job on Monday and the following week they open. This place is the talk of the town right now and we are expecting it to be VERY busy!!! Wishing you all a great Thursday.
Take Care.
