A finish, a finish

Can you see me jumping around?? I finally have a finish... Wow, it is about time. I can't remember when I started on this piece I just know that it now finished and that is all I care about now LOL

This is Garden of Life by Blackbird Designs
Stitched on 40ct Maritime White

The one thing I do regret is starting this design smack dab in the middle of the fabric. This was a pretty large piece of fabric and by doing so the rest of the area is pretty much unusable, except for maybe some small ornaments.... Next time I will measure it out and utilize my fabric better.

So what to do next?? I think it will be another WIP. I HAVE to whittle down my WIP basket. It will make me feel better when I get ready to tackle my next big project, which will it be?? I have no clue Haha but best to make room for it..

To those that celebrate Easter I wish you a happy and blessed Easter. And a very happy Sunday to all. Many ((HUGS)) and happy stitching.

What happened to spring??

Good Evening fine friends,
Are you all wondering what happened to the promise of spring? I sure am, but I will not be suing the ground hog over it like one Lawyer in Ohio. Read the story here Pretty silly if you ask me I know what though, I am SO ready for the real warm weather. I am being deprived of my Vitamin D and so is my husband and let me tell you he is a real "peach" without sunshine, sarcasm inserted there LOL So I am silently saying a prayer and crossing every thing I can cross that this warmer weather soon envelopes all of us :)

On to other news, I went today to fill out all my paper work for the new job and I have to say I am VERY Very excited but also very nervous. Lake Murray does not currently have a restaurant of this level anywhere on the lake. It is all bars with food. This has been a very anticipated opening. I am also very nervous because of that. It is the talk of the lake right now and I know that from April 16 through summer and into fall we are going to be working our tails off... On the plus side two of my co workers from the restaurant that closed its doors on us will be working with me so that right there will make it easier, knowing a few people already. I can not wait for the Grand Opening of this place and if anyone in the Columbia/Lexington area wants to come check it out please do. I know that they will have live music Saturday and Sundays from 2 p.m-6 p.m and from what I have heard a few big names...

Stitching news.... I am almost close to finishing Garden of Life by BBD I was nervous because one of the letters is off a stitch but the rest of the design is adding up so I am going to forget about that letter until I complete the boarder. But I have really enjoyed this design, the colors are so soft and it was stitched in all DMC. Once finished it will take its rightful place among all of my other completed finishes that are waiting for the final days of finishing.

I have family driving down form Ohio, they should be here late tonight so I better get moving and make sure I got this house in order :) Take care firends and may your weekend be wonderful!

shocked and saddened

I am at such a loss of words right now I can't even think what to title this post. Shocked, saddened??? We had a mandatory meeting tonight at work which included front and back of the house, now in the restaurant business when a meeting like this is called including the front and BACK of house staff there must be something big going on....... An expansion, a menu change, or a new manager... I wish it was all those and more but I was so sad when she said " I am sorry this will be the last night that we will be opened"

I am sure you can imagine the shock we all felt. Some of these loyal people have been with this place for 20+ years. I worked for this place 5 years ago and then moved to California and when I decided to move back to South Carolina this was the first place I called and they took me back in a heartbeat.

Now I don't know what kind of things were happeing on the money side of things but I know how tough it is to manage a business in the food industry. I just wish we would have been given some notice of some kind. Enough to find another job. I am lucky I was on the lookout for another job and had an interview today so it was the stars lining up... I have never worked for a place where they just closed up shop, If you could keep my co-workers in your thoughts and prayers. I do hope that we all see that there is a silver lining and there is a light at the the end of the tunnel.......'

No stitching today, but I will have about three weeks free time until I start my job so I will be able to fit some XS in

Cute babies means springtime

It is almost springtime, FINALLY :) And the babies are arriving. We were so very excited when we took our daily walk to go see the Donkeys and we were greeted to this sight.

Is it not the cutest?? It was born just two days ago. There are a total of three babies so far. We love taking an evening walk and bringing them carrots, though there is always one greedy one. He looks just like the Donkey from Shrek, he is very bossy and LOUD LOL.

This guy wanted ALL the carrots, I just had to snap a photo of his cute nose

He is a multi colored donkey, I have never seen this type before.

I have been stitching but there is not enough progress to share a photo. I want to thank all of my followers all 75 of you :) for visiting my blog and if you leave a comment I promise that I will eventually respond back to you. I do read each and every comment and truly appreciate them.

Take care and have a great day!!
