Winner...new starts and Snow go away

First off thank you for all the kind comments on the baby sampler. I promised to pick a name for the chart and pass it on,so drumroll please....... and the lucky gal is Denise from Country Stitcher. I will be emailing you shortly to get your mailing info.

Are you dreaming of warm sand and cool waves washing over your feet, the sun shining on your face?? So am I . After the snowy weather this week I need a trip to the Caribbean!! here is a picture of what we woke up to on Wednesday morning.

Now I know alot of you live in the North and snowy regions and this is just another winter day but for this Ohio born/Cali transplant, I don't like it LOL Oh yes I wished for it on Sunday night along with alot of other South Carolina people. But now this girl is ready for the warmer weather to return :)

Of course when it snows in these parts most everyone gets a snow day. Which is awesome that as an adult I get that joy of staying home and looking out at the beauty of freshly fallen snow without having to scrape off a car and freeze my hiney off. I did wake up at 7a.m and ventured outside to build a snowman :D Hubby watched from the window and stayed warm.

Yesterday I dug through my basket of charts and pulled out Beach-y Mood by Cross Eyed Cricket. I am stitching it 1 over 2 on 40ct and so far I really am enjoying it. It is fun to watch all of the motifs come to life as I move along.

I am wishing you all warmth and sunshine even if only in your mind. Have a great day and remember, enjoy the journey :)

Snow in the South and a finish finally

WooHoo! I have a finish. I stitched this for my dear friends baby boy that is set to grace us sometime in Febuary. Once I know the name and all the birth info I will send it off to be framed. I can't wait for her to welcome her son into the world. His two older sisters are getting very excited.

I will gladly send this chart to another stitcher, if you would like to stitch it just leave a comment here saying you would like to stitch this and I will pick a name on Wednesday night. I will let you know that I did mark up the original a bit :/

Today I am staying home all day, they are calling for snow/Sleet and ICE here and if ya'll know that is rare for South Carolina. Of course that means that all schools are closed or are closing early, all gov't offices are closed too. I am lucky because today is my day off anyway. So I have a big pot of spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove and plan on stitching the day away.

I hope however you are spending your day it is done with joy.

Stitching from stash challenge

For this whole year, I along with 129 other bloggers have committed to stitching from our stash and only spending $25 or less each month.Stitching From Stash 2014. This was Mels' idea over at Epic Stitching We are to report our monthly budget on our blog by the 28th of each month. Might sound crazy and alittle extreme but I have some really great things in my stash that I been wanting to start for ages but always put it off becasue I find something new to buy.

So I am taking this commitment seriously. This month I took advantage of coupons from Micheals, Joannes and Hobby Lobby. I bought two Tim Holtz Pocket watches, chains to use on them, and fabric from my local quilt shop to finish a birth sampler for my cousins little boy. I spent $21.50 this month. Not to shabby for my first go around.

Here is the group of stitchers in this adventure bloggers participating I am looking forward to visiting each blog.

I have been putting my sewing machinge to good use. I stitched a birth sampler for my Cousins son, and decided to finish it into a pillow. I just need to find a pillow form to fit into it. I did not realize it was going to be so large and I do not want to stuff it will poly filling.

I just LOVE the backing fabric. She has been waiting on this for a year and I am happy that is now almost complete. Tomorrow I will share will you a SAL I was doing with some girlfriends. Till then I hope ya'll are staying warm and staying safe. It is a C-O-L-D day for most of us.

gotta love youtube videos

Sometimes you come across something that is super fantastic. I hit JoAnns after Christmas to stock up on some fabrics. I actually ended up going twice in one week.

I bought this fabric with the intent to make table runners, now for me that is a scary task. I sew, but not enough to make something like a table runner well imagine my surprise when I come across a google search for The 10 minute table runner it seriously takes about 10 minutes it is super easy and perfect for those with basic sewing skills.

Here is a quick pic of the finished piece

I plan on this being a late Christmas gift for my Aunt. I have enough fabric to make 5 more runners and some coasters with the leftover fabric.

Wishing you all a good evening ((HIGS))

And that also included our four legged friends.
