Stitching from stash challenge

For this whole year, I along with 129 other bloggers have committed to stitching from our stash and only spending $25 or less each month.Stitching From Stash 2014. This was Mels' idea over at Epic Stitching We are to report our monthly budget on our blog by the 28th of each month. Might sound crazy and alittle extreme but I have some really great things in my stash that I been wanting to start for ages but always put it off becasue I find something new to buy.

So I am taking this commitment seriously. This month I took advantage of coupons from Micheals, Joannes and Hobby Lobby. I bought two Tim Holtz Pocket watches, chains to use on them, and fabric from my local quilt shop to finish a birth sampler for my cousins little boy. I spent $21.50 this month. Not to shabby for my first go around.

Here is the group of stitchers in this adventure bloggers participating I am looking forward to visiting each blog.

I have been putting my sewing machinge to good use. I stitched a birth sampler for my Cousins son, and decided to finish it into a pillow. I just need to find a pillow form to fit into it. I did not realize it was going to be so large and I do not want to stuff it will poly filling.

I just LOVE the backing fabric. She has been waiting on this for a year and I am happy that is now almost complete. Tomorrow I will share will you a SAL I was doing with some girlfriends. Till then I hope ya'll are staying warm and staying safe. It is a C-O-L-D day for most of us.

  1. I'm also a member of the group and I joined it because I love stitching from my stash, so it's the perfect challenge for me.

  4. Good for you for staying under budget this month! I'm in this group too and it has already saved me money, since I resisted buying something "just because" that I didn't really need.

  5. Hello! I found your blog from the link on Mel's blog, I'm part of Stitch from Stash too :) Well done for staying well within the budget. I haven't needed to spend yet, but I'm sure temptation will get me soon enough!
    Best wishes.
