Uh-Oh What do I do now??

Well, not only did I not hit any substantial numbers in the Mega millions drawing I'm starting to think I probably should not have quit my job today. I'm going to feel like such an idiot come Monday morning LOL Of course I am just kidding. Though I did play, I did not quit my job HeHe.

But I did get a finish in last night before bed. This is Quick-It Sampling Easter by Lizzie Kate just one of the lovely patterns from a drawing I won.
From A Stitchers Ramblings

I really enjoyed this little design. Hopefully I can finish it up into something fun this weekend.

That is all I have this morning, for I do unfortunately have to go to work this a.m So I hope you all have a very lovely Saturday!!

I'm Flattered.

I recently received two Liebster awards from fellow stitchers.
Nancy Cosy Stitching Corner and Penny Lark spur Lane

Liebster is German meaning favourite, dearest or beloved and the award is given to a favoured blog with less than 200 followers.
I normally do not take part in award and such, but I am all for passing along good blogs. But here ya go

A colorado Stitcher I started following her because she is from Colorado, a state i fell in love with when I lived there almost 9 years ago. Also her stitching is wonderful

Barb Wicked Stitcher I was drawn to her blog because of the name itself Wicked Stitcher, but then I kept coming back because her posts are always full of lovely photos of not only her beautiful stitching but photos of her "life"

Lana A Joyful Stitcher I have been following her blog for some time, I think before she was pregnant with her daughter. She always has fun posts with great stitching to share

Denise riverside stitching She is a Ohioan and being that my home state I HAVE to follow her LOL Her blog is always one I look forward to reading when she posts. She's got a great story telling attitude :)

In stitching news I was the lucky wonner of some great easter charts from Lynda at A Cozy Little Place for Stitching. I am almost done with the Lizzie Kate Easter Chart. It is so springy :)

Also some of you may be wondering how Trixie and her puppies are doing? I called the kennel today and they said that the puppies are starting to eat wet food and are getting lots of love and attention, as for Momma Trixie she just is a sweet heart and wants her babies to stop nursing, they have some sharp teeth. I am hoping to stop by there on Sunday so I can visit with them. They have many people interested in the puppies, but Trixie is still hoping :)

I hope you all have a lovely evening. I am off to walk my own pups and then finish my stitching.
Take Care

Puppy Love

Face Book can be a good thing.A long time friend of mine posted a photo of some puppies and their momma dog. She stated that she found them abandoned behind a church, can you imagine that UGH People are so evil!

Anyway she being a kind soul brought all 6 puppies and momma dog home. I saw the FB post and immediately gave her some rescue numbers. This was Sunday night, she had to go into work very early on Monday so I asked her if I could call a Westie Rescue place as I thought the Mom was part Westie

So this morning at 9:30 I placed a call to the Head Rescue Chair for the Norther California Rescue Chapter. I also emailed her the photos and she immediately wanted to help. She already had an appointment that she could not miss and asked if I would not mind going to pick up the puppied and their mom. I made an appointment to the local vet and brought the puppies over, the rescue lady was there to meet me. All the puppies and the Mom checked out great they are all healthy and in good shape.

But it turns out we do not think she is part Westie, maybe a bit Carin?? The Rescue Lady wanted to still help anyway =)

Next was the task of finding them a place to stay till they could get weened from their Momma. We called at least 6 places and nobody would take these babies, the animal shelters would but told us they would euthanize the babies, our last call was to a boarding kennel that also raises and trains German Shepherds for the K-9 unit for the local police dept. They stayed open late for us and were so accommodating, truly the blessing we needed.

So Momma Trixie, who I named while she was riding in the car with me. Truly a VERY sweet dog and her 6 puppies are resting comfortably tonight. I know the puppies will all find a home, 3 are already spoken for. I hope it is easy for Trixie to get placed also. If I did not have a limit of two dogs on my lease where I live I would take her in a heartbeat. She is a doll!!

Here are a few photos of the puppies.
This is the biggest one of the bunch and all she wanted to do was cuddle with me

Spring time lovelies

Lynda over at A cozy little place for stitching was having a drawing for some lovely charts on her blog a few days ago. I seem to be lacking in the Easter/spring chart department so I thought I would give it a shot and enter. Well as luck would have it I won =) Yes, that is my big cheesy grin. I received the charts in the mail today and sweet Lynda also included the cutest pair of bunny scissors "squeal" LOL I can not wait to start stitching these up!!

Todays mail also brought my spring Easter exchange from my stitching pal over at stitching friends through seasons Darlene did a wonderful job stitching up a sweet LHN design and made it into a pillow. She also spoiled me lots of goodies and sweets, which DH has already tried to claim HeHe I don't think I could have had a better Friday!!

Happy Spring Ya'll

First day of spring?? You would not be able to tell in my neck of the woods. For us here in the Bay Area we are finally getting our winter. The rain has been holding off for the past day or so, but the gray clouds and chilly air is still with us. Heck we even had some snow in our Mountains down by us, that's when you know it's cold when Mt. Hamilton gets a nice dusting :) Makes for a pretty sight when driving to work.A little info on Mt Hamilton Mount Hamilton
From A Stitchers Ramblings

I took this photo from the top of the CVS building near my house. The roads leading up to the mountain were closed due to the snow or else I would have made the drive over there.

***EDITED*** For those wondering how I got on the roof of the CVS building there is actually a parking garage up there hehe!!
So what better way to spend a chilly winters day than to stitch. I am trying to work on projects in my WIP/UFO basket. Going through it last night I found a Shepherds Bush kit that I had started over a year ago. I remember putting it away because I was afraid of the specialty stitches, fear of not being able to do them and also fear of wrong placement. But I really like the design so last night I decided to JUST DO IT. So here is a snap of my progress so far.

Old Glory by Shepherds Bush

Today is my weekend so after I walk the hounds and clean my bathroom I will settle in to stitch for awhile before my DH makes his way home from work. Hopefully my next blog post I will be able to show you more progress on this current piece.

Till then thank you friends for stopping by and for those that leave comments. It really makes my day to read them :)
Take care and happy stitching!

I am in love

....with my dutch oven that is :)I bought this beauty at a flea market YEARS ago. The man selling it said his wife bought a new flat top stove and refused to allow him to use it on the new stove, plus he said he was getting to old to lift it, it's pretty heavy. So it came home with me and after all these years that pretty sheen is still there

Tonight I am making a pot of Guinness Beef Stew I'm going to start it right now so I can sit down and go through my stash and pick a new pattern to start Every time I finish a wip and want to start a new design to stitch it takes me at least a week to decide on something. :)

I hope everyones Monday is shaping up to be a good one. Till next time happy stitching!!

A new finish

I am slowly turning my UFOs and WIPs into finishes. This is Once In A Blue Moose from Designs by Lisa. It really is so nice to complete this one, it has been lingering in my basket for almost two years. I can now place it into my "To Finally Finish" bin :)

I have a few pictures from a hike we took today. It included HUGE waves and baby seals :) I will save those for another post. Have a wonderful Sunday evening. And as always thank you for visiting my blog and all your lovely comments!

Prepare to drool!!! Fabric Heaven!! Picture heavy

So a few weeks ago a crafting friend of mine told me about this fabric place where every month you can go to this warehouse and there is tons and tons of fabric. Fabric swatches, fabric remnants, large pieces of tile, rugs, leather swatches etc.

Their motto is: Rescuing Designer Materials for Creative Reuse. Here is a link to their site.
FabMo.Org
They run on donations, I donated a small cash amount but the next time I go back I will surely donate MORE. The amount of fabric I got for free was probably well over $100!!!

Here are just a few pictures I want I took home with me.

Those velvet pieces, there are about 80 or so I am going to make a patch work dog bed. Ohhh this is exciting LOL

I also found some zippers. This was my first time here and let me tell you it was amazing. The ladies that were working this event were so helpful lending creative ideas and finding stash for everyone.

There was a lady looking for silk pieces, I found alot and walked them over to her. Just amazing I tell you. I could not get over how much stuff there was. I even came across a LHN chart, I already had the same one so I left it for some one else to enjoy.

I can't wait till next month :)

Ready to put a hurting on my wallet

It has really been a long time since I have purchased any stash, I have been slowly adding items to a wish list. Today I decided on a few items to place in my cart
My Cart

I am most excited about the Blackbird Design book. I have never bought one their books before, have a few patterns, I look forward to browsing through this one :)

So what's in your cart?

I have put away With One Accord for today, I want to work on that birth sampler for my cousins soon to be baby.

Well friends I hope you have a lovely Tuesday, I am off to walk these hounds of mine and do a bit of laundry and settle in for a bit of stitching.
